Welcome at the Association of Fertilizer Producers (VKP).
The VKP promotes the interests of the Dutch fertilizer producers. The total production is estimated at 5.8 million tons a year with a total turnover of EUR 1 billion. The number of employees in the Dutch fertilizer industry totals 2000.

The Dutch fertilizer industry aims to provide agriculture with a dependable and competitive supply of high quality mineral fertilizers. The industry encourages the use of plant nutrients according to Best Agricultural Practices. The industry assists in advising farmers, thus stimulating them to produce high-quality crops in an economically and environmentally sound manner. The members of the VKP endorse the principles of Responsible Care.

The VKP is engaged in:

1) Maintaining regular contact with and consulting Dutch ministries regarding all issues which could be of importance to the Dutch fertilizer industry and the collective members of the association;

2) Co-operation with Dutch agricultural organisations and other organisations which develop activities in the area of agriculture;

3) Collecting, processing or having processed, statistical data, in particular anything pertaining to the manufacture and use of fertilizers;

4) Carrying out market analyses and making assessments with respect to the use of fertilizers;

5) Promoting a well-considered use of fertilizers;

6) Organising, stimulating and carrying out research;

7) Taking part in discussions at national, EU and international level with organisations to: protect the interests of the fertilizer industry, exchange of relevant know-how, harmonize legislation in various countries.
